Meet Lucy – People & Communications Officer

Lucy started with K&S as a recent University graduate – studying Media and Communications. K&S have provided a supportive working environment, one where she can enjoy flexibility and a range of work. Having the ability to be creative, learn new skills and put her studies to use in real-life situations demonstrates a fresh perspective on communications within the company. Being part of a friendly and inviting office culture makes the transition into working life much easier. Being able to ask questions – no matter what they are, empowers Lucy to feel valued and a part of the team at K&S.

Meet William – Work Placement Mechanic

Whilst completing VCAL at school, William undertook a placement with our Workshop team at K&S Freighters as a Mechanic. K&S has nurtured William’s interests in cars, repairs and automotive by providing an enjoyable learning experience in his future field of employment, surrounded by welcoming and friendly staff who were able to guide him and provide a wealth of knowledge. William was able to gain knowledge with a variety of equipment including trucks, trailers and material handling equipment which allowed him to improve his skills and heightened his passion for automotive and mechanics within the trucking industry.

Meet Des – National Equipment Sales Manager

Des started working at K&S Freighters more than 55 years ago. Des’ passion, loyalty and drive tied with experience has been immensely valuable for K&S Corporation. At the age of 80, Des continues to work with us, imparting great knowledge and providing guidance to many existing and new employees. When asked what has kept him going all these years and why he has stayed so long, Des, without hesitation said, “why NOT stay this long?”. “Seeing the industry change from when I was a mechanic and the challenges in this industry have kept me going till this day.”

Meet Kenn – Diesel Mechanic

The pleasant working environment, supportive management and the team Ken works with have been a contributing factor to Ken’s relationship with the company. Ken believes that K&S have done a terrific job in adapting to new technologies, updating rules and regulations accordingly and keeping safety at the forefront. A lot has changed since Ken started as an apprentice at the age of 17 years, including simple changes such as the introduction of Hi-Vis vests. Advice for our new team members from Ken is to take care of your health and body so you can have a long and healthy career.

Meet Raymond – Driver

Raymond, a dedicated Driver at K&S has just recently achieved 35 years with the team. The enjoyment of coming to work everyday and having a new adventure is what has kept him with the company all these years. Overcoming challenges such as changes in rules and regulations throughout his time at K&S is what makes Ray a dedicated and committed member of the team. Ray enjoys working for a company who look after their employees well and appreciates working within a trustworthy team – allowing Ray to feel and be a valuable member of K&S.
